Notes on “Kid Icarus Reveiled” articles

What does first article cover?

The game internals, related to how level data is stored and processed (including enemies, mobile platforms and items), and the way graphics work, from tiles to complex structures, for all levels, including fortresses. Also, a ROM map, or in other words, where things are stored in the ROM. And basics on how does the cartridge work, etc.

I plan future articles to cover things such as:

- Interesting code routines, I discovered.

- RAM location meanings, I discovered.

- Text translation

- Cheating

You should know...

As I say at the begining of first article, you should be familiarized with some concepts before getting into it.

If you don't know anything about Computer Arquitecture, you should learn something, focussing on general overview, CPU, memory and I/O.

If you don't know anything about NES hardware, get Yoshi's or Marat Fayzullin doc about it. You can find them anyway, also in my web.

If you don't know anything about assembler, it would be very good if you could take a look at some beginners tutorial or document at least.

Also, if you have any question, you can mail me.

(for those who don't know Spanish, “consolas para siempre” means “consoles for ever”).
