KID ICARUS: Erico
The return of a classic
We have had to wait 20 years since Kid Icarus
was released in Japan for the FAMICOM, and 15 years since the Gameboy sequel
in order to see Pit vack in action on a new 2D game, where new adventures
awaits the mythic angel forgot by Nintendo.

This project is not dead. Indeed, I haven't work on it in the past few months, because I got a job, and basically it was not good for my mental health to push myself further. Unluckily, the lack of free time in a person's life prevents from doing what he or she is willing to. I wanted to have a beta release of this game a year ago... Today I plan to start working on this game again, and I hope I can have it finish soon.

I uploaded 5 preview videos. As I'll have examns soon, the game release is likely to be dalayed until February, as I can't keep up with my job, university, and all the stuff. But the project, far from being dead, is in constant evolution. I hope you enjoy the videos.

The project keeps on track, but it has been delayed due to my lack of free time, and the lack of support. On this moment I only recieve help from one person (Carlota), and there are many things to do and loose ends to tie, too much for the shoulders of just 2 persons, hehe. Believe me, I am sweating blood in order to carry on this project and to get a little for time for it in the middle of work and studies, which is quite hard thing to do. I hope to release a playable version on January.

Because of work issues, we have to delay the beta, but we hope it to be finished by the end of October. We would have liked to finish it now but... well, didn't all we waited for the Wii? ;-)
Thanks for your patience!
BTW, we have added some screenshots.

Some of you missed it, another ones forgot about it, but the brave Pit now faces another adventure armed with its bow and arrows. Of course, we wanted that our hero lives at the wonderful world of 2D on this new game, sequel of the awesome Kid Icarus for the NES / Famicom, created by the difunct Gumpei Yokoi.
It is being developed mainly by David Senabre (alias Nes Warrior) with the colaboration of Carlota Barrios (alias Tolrak) and Eduardo Marqués (alias Ikael).
This game is the fruit of more than 3 years of hard work with their ups and downs, sleepless nights, desesperation and thousand of bugs... but at the same time, lot of illusion and always with the original Kid Icarus original on mind, which has been our main source of inspiration. We just hope to be worthy of versionate this game.
This game mantains new enemies that all the Kid Icarus fanatics recognice, and also some new ones. The game has 3 worlds, with 3 stages each and one fortress per world, old school style. However, there will also be new secret leveles, new items and secrets to explore.
We hav wanted to put the game everything that couldn't be putted onto the original, adding more action and exploration, secrets, cameos from another classic games, and a Pit with its original design.
We present you the first Beta of the game, in
which you can play the whole first world, as well as the second one, which
is under construction. We don't have a finished OST.... but be patient, we
will finish it someday ;)
We will supply an English version soon, and it will be traduced onto more
different languages.
We hope that you enjoy playing it as much as we enjoyed making it, and please, don't hestiate telling us which things we should improove. It is always an honor and a pleasure to offer the world a sequel of such a loved classic.

PREVIOUS SCREENSHOTS
Ok, let's see some screens with the game working. Remember that all of them have been took from a beta version, so the final version of the game might look a bit different.
A level of the first world (Angel Land) where Pit will beging his long journey.

We can see Pit jumping between platafforms, old school style, dodging new enemies. To the right, a broken bridge that stops his adavance towards the Angel Land's fortress.

No, we didn't forgot about the Reaper. But put also has to avoid the Gryphoon's attack!

And nor we forgot about the fortress. However, we have tried to improove certain things. Sorry we cannot mention them, they are a secret ;-) On the image you can appreaciate a dynamic lighting effect, which would appear on another times during the game (the further from Pit the objects and enemies are, the darker they get). The blackground is not our cup of tea, it is just a placeholder so it will be changed in a future version.

Although it has been hard to decide which things from the old game we shall mantain and which ones we shall ditch, we think that a Kid Icarus without the Eggplant Mage is not a proper Kid Icarus. Let's see him in action.

The mythic endlevel screen will come back. And they will be different on eah world. Here there are the ones of the first 2 worlds, Angel Land and Desert Land.

Images of Desert Land (world 2). Mummies, spear traps, new jumping enemies, and a new snake mirage are only a fraction of the enemies that will await you on this new world of sand and cathacombs.

What do you think of the scorpions that avoid Pit's arrows and strike him from a safe distance? Erico created them with the old Netler and Mc Goo on mind. Do you remember them? Can them stop Pit this time?

Last but not least, a new image where you can appreciate the effect of dynamic lighting.
